Website Services Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 2026
1. Scope of Work
We provide a single combined offering for tradespeople: a Website & Google Setup package (a one-off service) and a required ongoing Website & Google Management service. The exact scope of each project will be confirmed before work begins. The Website & Google Setup package is a one-off service priced at £795 and includes:
- A professionally designed, mobile-friendly website of up to 8 pages.
- Dedicated pages for your main services, where appropriate.
- Basic on-page search engine optimisation, including page titles, headings, URLs and website content.
- Contact forms, telephone links and suitable enquiry options.
- Domain configuration and SSL setup.
- Google Business Profile creation, where your business is eligible, or optimisation of an existing profile.
- Website submission for Google indexing, where supported by the website platform and Google.
- Up to 3 rounds of reasonable revisions to the agreed website design and content.
You must supply the necessary business information, photographs, service details, branding materials and other requested content. Additional pages, substantial redesigns, specialist integrations, additional revision rounds and any work outside the agreed scope may incur additional charges, which must be agreed before the extra work begins.
2. Payment Terms
- A 50% deposit is required before work begins.
- The remaining 50% is due no more than 5 days after the website has gone live. The website will be taken offline if the balance is not received in this time.
- The management fee will be taken on the same day each month. If the payment is missed, the website may be taken offline.
3. Monthly Management (Required)
All websites are provided with an ongoing monthly management service, which is a required part of the Website & Google Setup package. The Website & Google Management service is priced at £147 per month and includes:
- Website hosting and routine maintenance.
- SSL and routine website security upkeep.
- Minor website content changes.
- Google Business Profile management.
- Three Google Business Profile posts per calendar month.
- Replies to new Google reviews.
The first monthly payment is taken one month after the website completion invoice is issued. Subsequent payments will be taken on the same day every month thereafter unless cancelled.
4. Non-Payment
If monthly payments are missed or cancelled:
- The website may be taken offline.
- Services will be suspended until payment resumes.
- If payment is more than 30 days late, the website may be permanently deleted.
5. Changes & Additional Work
Minor website content changes are included in the monthly management service. Additional pages, substantial redesigns, specialist integrations, additional revision rounds and any work outside the agreed scope may be quoted separately and must be agreed before the extra work begins.
6. Third-Party Platforms
Websites are built and hosted using third-party platforms, including Base44. While we aim to provide a reliable service, we are not responsible for outages, failures, or issues caused by third-party providers.
7. Liability
We are not liable for:
- Loss of business, revenue, or data.
- Issues caused by third-party services.
- Downtime outside of our control.
In the event of an issue, we will make reasonable efforts to resolve or restore the website.
8. Ownership
The website remains part of a managed service and is owned by HardHat Web Design. If the monthly management plan is cancelled:
- The website may be taken offline.
- Ongoing access and hosting will end.
9. Cancellations & Refunds
9.1 Project Cancellation (Before Completion)
If a client chooses to cancel a project after paying the initial 50% deposit, the deposit is non-refundable. This is because it covers time, work carried out, and the reservation of project space. Once cancellation is confirmed, no further work will be undertaken.
9.2 Project Completion & Final Payment
The remaining 50% will be invoiced when the website goes live and is due within 5 days. Once the final balance has been paid, the project is considered complete.
9.3 Revisions & Client Satisfaction
If a client is not satisfied with the website, reasonable revisions will be offered within the agreed scope of the project to address any concerns. However, refunds will not be provided once the website has been completed and delivered. A change of mind or dissatisfaction with stylistic elements does not qualify for a refund.
9.4 Refund Policy
Deposits are non-refundable under all circumstances. Once a website has been completed and delivered, no refunds will be issued. Payments made for monthly services are also non-refundable.
9.5 Monthly Management Plan Cancellation
Clients may cancel the monthly management plan at any time. Upon cancellation, the website will be taken offline and all associated services will cease. No refunds will be provided for any previous monthly payments.
9.6 Consumer Rights & Work Commencement
By making payment, the client agrees for work to begin immediately. The client acknowledges that, under the Consumer Contracts Regulations, they may have a statutory 14-day cancellation right for services purchased remotely. However, by requesting that work begins within this period, the client agrees that this right may be waived once work has started and understands that they may not be entitled to a full refund if the service has already been partially or fully delivered.
9.7 How to Cancel
Your cancellation request must be put in writing and emailed to: hello@hardhatwebdesign.co.uk.
10. Acceptance
By proceeding with payment, the client agrees to these terms.
